About the South East Fostering Hub
Local Authority Fostering South East is a new virtual hub, bringing together 20 councils across the region with a shared common goal – to recruit and support more amazing foster carers to provide safe, loving and local homes for children in our communities.

- Gender

- Information relating to personal circumstances of enquirers

- Race or ethnicity information

How we get the personal information and why we have it
Most of the personal information we process is provided to us for one or more of the following reasons:
- To process applications to become a foster carer
- To process fostering enquiries
- To provide continued support to applicants
We receive information directly from you via our online form, phone calls or email correspondence.

Criminal Offence Data
Processing of personal data relating to criminal convictions and offences, or related security measures based on Article 6(1) shall be carried out only under the control of official authority or when the processing is authorised by Union or Member State law providing for appropriate safeguards for the rights and freedoms of data subjects.
The processing will be authorised by UK law if it meets a condition in DPA 2018 Schedule 1: Parts 1, 2 or 3.

Service adjustments
As a public authority and a provider of services to the public, we have a legal duty to comply with the Equality Act 2010.
This means we need to make service adjustments for anyone with a disability who contacts us in any capacity, to eliminate any barriers to accessing our services.
Our lawful basis for processing this information is article 6(1)(c) of the GDPR as we have a legal obligation to provide this. Our processing of special category data, such as health information you give us, will be based on article 9(2)(a), which means we need your consent.
We will create a record of your adjustment requirements. These will give your name, contact details and type of adjustment required, along with a brief description of why it is required. Relevant staff can access this to make sure they are communicating with you in the required way.
